American-style Filone

4 wheat Filone loaves
16 slices of smoked beef
16 slices of Cheddar
2 tomatoes
1 lettuce
8 pickled gherkins

Begin preparing the American-style loaf recipe by warming up some of the slices of bread. Spread the others with mustard and stuff some with 2 slices of meat, 2 slices of cheese, 2 slices of tomato and a few slices of cucumber. Cover with the warm bread, then add 2 more slices of meat, 2 slices of cheese, the remaining tomatoes and cucumbers. Finish with the rest of the bread, then heat everything up on the grill: serve the American-style loaf piping hot.
